2017 - Hope City submitted a proposal for a church and prayer ministry in the Askew School to expand its services. KCPS and Blue Valley Neighborhood Association hosted a reuse proposal presentation on Thursday, November 2, 2017. KCPS did not take formal action on the proposal as community feedback was mixed. KCPS staff was working with Hope City to see if the proposal could be modified to address some of the community concerns. During this time, Hope City purchased the building it had been leasing, and discussions ended between KCPS/Hope City.
